SPRJK Trust’s hundred-year-old journey is a true embodiment of the ideals and vision of Bharat Ratna awardee Shri Pandit Ratnachandraji Maharaj, a Jain muni, who was dedicated to spreading the importance of educating the girl child and who inspired our founders.
It is necessary to remember the circumstances that formed the basis of its establishment in 1924. These circumstances did not arise only from British colonialism. Behind it, is hundreds of years of deprivation of the girl child from education.
A century back, the need of the hour was to create a sanctuary for girls, an education institute where their dreams are nurtured, their potential is realized, their character is developed and their voices are heard. Inspired by Shri Pandit Ratnachandraji, the founders, many of who were freedom fighters, dared to take up this stupendous task of educating girls. They challenged traditional barriers and set out to win the war of gender equality in education. Their aim was also to prepare a new generation of educated women for a bright future of independent India.
The SPRJK Trust has been a beacon of knowledge, empowering thousands of girls and shaping their lives through free/subsidised education.
